Main Gate : Welcoming Beneficial Energy into your Rental Home

Tuesday, September 9 • 7 - 8.30PM [Zoom]

Feng Shui is a practice of observing the energy flow in our surroundings and making adjustments to nourish the site and inhabitants. Many aspects are considered including the landscape, object placement, elements, colors, materials, and occupant health.

While it is a complex practice with many forms and considerations, general principles and concepts can be applied to help welcome and circulate beneficial energy around your home or apartment.

The front door is called the Main Gate, or Mouth of Chi, and welcomes beneficial energy as you would welcome a visiting guest. 

After an introduction to fundamental Feng Shui principles, we will review common challenges that may prevent beneficial energy from entering and circulating through your home or apartment, and look at possible remedies.

Attendees will be asked to take pictures and make a basic floorplan sketch of their current residence ahead of the workshop. There will be time throughout to identify and discuss changes that can be made to your own front door and entryway. 

NOTE: while this will be an overview of one [very important] aspect of the home, it will not address all impacts or conditions of the site or structure.

The Practitioner :

El Larson is a Pasadena-based practitioner working with sound and space to help balance internal and external environments. She is certified in Feng Shui (BTB school), the WELL and fitwel building standards, Tibetan Bowl sound healing, Reiki, and Ayurveda. 

El had practiced healing modalities for over 20 years when she sought to apply principles of balance and well being to public space and the built environment. She spent several years working at RoTo Architects understanding the design process, and is pleased to offer remedies that span physical and metaphysical realms.
